I Got A New Job!! 💕🥳

I am an official employee of the United States Postal Service!! I am technically still in orientation mode for an RCA (Rural Carrier Associate). I am so excited. Oswego Post Office hired me. Actually a few post offices reached out, however a few of them needed you to use your own vehicle. I have a small sedan with bucket seats. No way that would work. Then I saw Oswego was hiring and I knew they had their own vehicles, so I jumped at the chance.

I did 2 days of orientation at the Syracuse building. Mainly got some USPS merch and an ID badge and watched countless videos. I did learn a a lot. I think the major thing they said was you CANNOT back up the postal buggy. If you forget something you park the vehicle safely and walk back or loop around again. Also never use your cell phone while driving! 

Next week I go in Tuesday to Syracuse to take a driving course and Saturday I will go to Oswego to shadow an employee. I am going to be so nervous! On the 22nd thru the 25th there is the Academy  where it is more in depth training, how to actually do your job. I also joined the union while at orientation. 

So, this is something new for me, am nervous and excited. My biggest worry is driving during the winter. And also stressing about my time. Otherwise, I think will be great. Multiple people have said the first 2 months are crazy and stressful, after that it will be routine. Fingers crossed!!

Job Hunting 🤞🏻

 Woah, so I have been actively looking for a job, for the last 3 months. I really need to get one soon! I was a substitute teacher the last 4 years. I am tired of that, and need to move on.

I have a profile on LinkedIn, I look on Indeed and Monster daily. I look at the Shopper every week. I have sent out at least 100 applications. I am positive something will come up. 

That’s all for now, just needed to vent. I am looking for something part time for now. I know I can always go across the street for a job, it’s a small grocery store/gas station. However that’s not what I am looking for. To be honest I am not really sure what I am looking for, I think like an office job. Wish me luck as I continue looking . . . 

What is Letterboxing?

   

  I had seen a story on Facebook about Letterboxing and of course got immediately obsessed! Adventuring outside with a *gasp* journal!? And some stamps and ink?? Sounds super fun! I never went geocaching but have heard of it.  Letterboxing is similar in that you use clues to find things. The things being a stamp, logbook, sometimes ink and or pen all in one watertight box. Out in the wildnerness 🌲

    I immediately looked on Amazon for stamp and ink kits. I found some cute outdoorsy ones and a variety of different colored ink pads. In the meantime I did go to local stores to see if I could purchase stamp and ink kits. Not one store, not even Walmart, they had a whole kit but was like little kids ones. I went on letterboxing.org to sign up and start looking where these boxes were. 

    Unfortunately, letterboxing.org is an older website that is outdated. The boxes listed in my area were all found 10 -15 years ago. From there I found AtlasQuest.com which is the newer website that seems like more people use. It is more updated and I found more boxes in my area on there. There are also message boards on there so a lot of people can communicate on there as well. 

    I am excited to start this new hobby. Most people make their own stamps, and are encouraged to do so. Also to place their own letterboxes. I will eventually do that (most likely). For now I will be happy to try to find other peoples and use the store bought stamps 💕

New Tarot Cards! 🔮✨💕

     I had a doctor appointment in Fulton today and so stopped by a second hand/antique store. I have never been there but have driven by countless times. The store is huge with so many goodies! I was looking for a  new bag. I got a new wallet a couple weeks ago and needed a new bigger bag as well. I found a cute canvas bag. I also purchased a deck of tarot cards - specifically The Green Witch Tarot cards by Ann Moira. I am so glad I purchased these, they are so pretty! I also purchased some sandalwood incense and a pretty amethyst necklace.

    These cards are a little different than my Robin Wood deck. This is my second tarot deck. I don’t really feel the need to collect decks. This deck however reached out to me and I had to have them 😍 It will also help me learn more tarot. In the Green Witch tarot cards, instead of cups they are called Chalices, instead of swords, they are Athames. 

    The Major Arcana is also different between the decks. The Fool is called the Greenman, the Magician is the Witch, and the Empress is called the Earth Mother. The pictures are beautiful. Part of how I read tarot is what picture the cards show. Looking at the people, do they look happy or stressed? Are they moving, and what direction? I love learning about tarot. I would love to actually able to read the cards for people one day.

New Social Media!

     So I finally “bit the bullet” and downloaded TikTok 🤪 You can find me at https://www.tiktok.com/@elizabeth.moot?_t=8lH199RkYW3&_r=1  I have not posted anything yet. The app is so time consuming! It sucks you in and you can spend hours just scrolling.

    A lot of my friends and family are on the app. I have been watching some streamers on there as well. I have been watching the “Booktok” as well,  lots of people reviewing and recommending books. I haven’t found anything super weird on there yet, just random? 

    I have been trying to connect all the social media accounts and that is very time consuming! If someone has a way to do that quickly  . . . .  Ok so that’s all for now kids. Have a great day!
