Online Dating

My husband died last year. April 1st 2017. Two months ago I felt I was ready to start dating again. I have a 4 yr old son who is attached to my hip. I live in my hometown which is very lovely and very small. There are not a lot of people my age that live here.
I decided to try online dating because why not? It's not like I can actually meet a real person in real life!
I signed up for Match.com and I paid for a 3 month subscription. I also signed up for OK Cupid and Plenty of Fish. I was looking for a relationship not just a hook up so I did not even attempt Tinder.
I have spoken with some guys who were not really my type. I spoke with guys that I thought were my type, but then they suddenly stopped talking to me. And just a couple I went on actual dates with. Although one person I went on 3 dates with,  I just felt I wasn't ready like I thought I was.
I am going to go back to being single and not dating. Maybe in a few months I will try again. My town is a lot busier in the summetime, maybe I will meet a real person 😆 I am also working at the racetrack on Saturday nights this summer doing food concession so there is a possibility as well.
I am pretty happy now, I was getting into a funk and that's why I tried online dating. We will see how the summer goes 🌞🌞

      I had a doctor appointment in Fulton today and so stopped by a second hand/antique store. I have never been there but have driven by countless times. The store is huge with so many goodies! I was looking for a  new bag. I got a new wallet a couple weeks ago and needed a new bigger bag as well. I found a cute canvas bag. Review for Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby

Review I left on Goodreads on September 27, 2023 "This was sad, tugs at the heart strings 💗 2 dads with so much regret because of how they treated their sons when they were alive. Then the sons were both killed, the fathers avenge the deaths in the most action packed way 😁 Loved all the lawn tool references 😆 A great read! 5/5 ⭐️" This book was really good. Extremely emotional. Despite the fathers being absolute shits to their sons, you could feel how much love there was, how much regret that they couldn't express their love in a more healthy way. I am not a father so I don't get it. How "men are supposed to be men" and all that. In my opinion if you have a child, you love and protect them no matter what. Book Review "The Light Pirate" by Lily Brooks-Dalton

 I read this book last December. I gave it 5 stars on Goodreads. Some quotes from the book that I loved: "Frida can smell the rich stink of thunder in the air, something like ozone and gasoline and dirt all mixed together. The hurricane is close now, she can taste it." I love how this author writes 😄 "If the ocean is a body, then the waves are it's tongue, long and blue-gray, licking at the beach until there's nothing left. This body is wide and full and deep. It rises, wrapping itself around the world, squeezing the land tight between it's thighs. Ten years means nothing to a body like this. It's been here since the beginning."  Sigh . . . love this writing so much about our earth ❤ Please check this book out, highly recommend!
